SOUTHBOUND AT CALDER

Road construction on IH 45-Gulf Freeway at Calder in Galveston County is expected to create delays for motorists traveling in the area Friday evening. Beginning at 8:00 p.m., Friday, January 29, crews will close the left lane on IH 45 southbound at Calder. At 9:00 p.m., they will close the remaining southbound mainlanes. Then at 11:00 p.m., the left lane on IH 45 northbound will be closed. All lanes will be reopened to traffic by 7:00 a.m., Saturday, January 30.

Extreme Makeover Home Edition announced last month that they will be building a dream home for a lucky family in the Bay Area. Extreme Makeover has partnered with Blu Shields construction for the build. There are numerous area sponsors and vendors who will be participating.  There was a pep rally for the crew, sponsors at Clear Creek Community the past Monday and they will announce tomorrow where the home will be built.
