UTMB recently released a master facility plan which highlights building improvements and additions from 2010 through 2035. Obviously this is a long term projection that can change but the report is very positive for growth in League City.
The plan highlights numerous new buildings to the Galveston Campus. Those unfamiliar with UTMB might wonder how that is good for League City but many employees and students who work in Galveston live in League City. In addition to detailing plans for Galveston, the report outlines how the 64 acres purchased in Victory Lakes will be built out.
Here is the current site with the Specialty Center.
Here is the projected look of the Victory Lake Campus.
The buildings make up 2.9 Million square feet of space. To give you an idea of the size of the campus when finished, the building you see on the site of I-45 (Specialty Center) is 100,000 square feet. Obviously adding facilities like this will bring new jobs and economic activity to League City in the future.
