Tuesday evening was the public hearing at City Hall about restricting golf cart use on public roads in League City.  About 10 people including myself spoke against restricting golf cart use by adults in the city. No one who spoke at the meeting wanted to restrict golf cart use for adults.  The Mayor and Police Chief of Clear Lake Shores a city known for its golf carts spoke in great support of allowing carts to be used by adults. The Police Chief of Clear Lake Shores commented that in 15 years he could only remember two golf cart accidents with actual damage.

I was surprised the Chief of Police for League City didn’t speak considering he was the person that asked for the change in the law. I was hoping someone at League City would have spoke to explain the thinking behind making a new golf cart law. Never the less, it was great that the city provided residents a forum to voice our concerns about restricting golf carts use directly to the Major and City Council.
